I'm going back to grad school as a non-degree major to finish the pre-reqs necessary (chems and orgos) for the DAT. This will take me 4 additional semesters starting this Fall, when should I start studying for the DAT which I will probably take at the end of those 2 years?

I would suggest starting the first day of class. The more you commit to memory early on, the better off you'll be. By the time you're studying for the DAT, you should be reviewing rather than relearning the material. I found tutoring these subjects after I had completed to be very helpful in committing the material to long-term memory.

Hey, Captain Cuspid! I think you'd get more responses by posting this question in the DAT forum. 🙂

That being said, check both of the links in my signature. They contain breakdowns from people who have taken and done well on the DAT. You can check out their study schedules, their academic backgrounds, and their scores and then determine what you think would work best for you. There are over 70 breakdowns to read, so I am sure you could get a great idea of what would help you to succeed!

Also, I don't really suggest starting to study for the test now. You won't retain much by the time your DAT rolls around. I suggest studying for 2.5-3 months prior to your test.

If you start studying ANYTHING at this point, I'd buy one of the Crack the PAT bundles and start working with your PAT practice. Doing well on the PAT is an acquired skill that takes time and effort. It doesn't require any rote memorization, though, which is why I think it would be okay to start studying it now! 🙂
