So looking at some of the "you're complete" emails and school websites, it seems like MST programs tend to not even start reviewing applications till the end of this year. (eg Chicago who won't look till the first of December).

Is this like that for all schools, obviously not the rolling admissions ones, and did i waste my summer trying to get secondaries and stuff in as quickly as I can ?!

What do you mean Chicago won't look till the first of December?

No.

Tri-I has been screening apps for about 2 weeks and beginning to review some already, for example

No - every school does this process differently. Some review the trickle of applications as they come in, and some don't even think about it until late Fall. In my experience, there wasn't any clear correlation based on prestige or program size as to when I heard back.

That's impossible to answer.

On one hand, it wasn't a waste because you had to do it eventually.

If what you mean is that you didn't increase your chances of being accepted to one of your goal schools, then this is potentially true. Short of calling the programs beforehand and asking them, there wasn't any way to know. And even if some of your goal schools do review continuously, it's possible you are either a) so competitive that you could have applied dec 1 and still gotten in b) so out of competition that you could have applied in may and still gotten rejected.

Get some bonus joy out of being done by finding some procrastinating pre-med and gloating mercilessly at them! :meanie:

This is the part of the application cycle in which we get to play the "Waiting Game".

I hate the Waiting Game.
