  1. Dental Student
I was wondering if there are any dating websites for dentists who prefer to date dentists?
95% of my classmates are married so it does not leave me with any choice. I prefer to date someone who understands what a Class II is and can be excited about new implant technologies. Any ideas out there?

well, im sure that can have both ups and downs though trying to find another [future] dentist to date. why not try eharmony, or match.com or something of the sorts. i'm sure you could find a better "personallity" match through there instead of finding someone that has your same study habits, etc...

you might be able to look at the people that are involved with other aspects of your life. If you play tennis, join a USTA league and meet people there. If you're an outdoorsman then join some clubs in your area (http://www.hikingandbackpacking.com/hiking_clubs.html , or this one http://www.singlesoutdooradventures.org/).

just some ideas...

Just hit a bar or a club and see if someone catches your attention. Online dating is lame

Check out the cafeteria...there must be fresh meat in there 😉

I personally could not date another dental student.... when I come home, its better for my stress levels and sanity if I don't keep harping on my latest patient, practical, exam etc..... I get enough dentistry at school all day and studying all night

Thats just me though.

If I already had my DDS then maybe dating/marrying another DDS might be different, but then you might run into the trouble of "we should practice together!". I know it works for some, but that would be a recipe for disaster for many, myself included.

Oh, and I don't recommend dating another student in your class. I know it happens all the time and it can work out in the end, but if things go sour and you guys breakup, it can be disastrous b/c you still have to see each other all the time and it makes it terribly awkward for everyone else in your class ( I speak from personal experience on this last point).

Agreed, no DentCest (I can't take credit for this term, as someone else came up with it, although for the life of me I can't remember who it was). It's best to to get your social circle wider than just your classmates or folks in your school, or at least that's my plan. It makes things more interesting in life overall. Besides, there are enough rumors/gossips circling each class already, and I kind of want to see different people other than my classmates, whom I already see five/six days a week.

Hmm, I wonder if DentCest (great term!) might work at a larger school like NYU.

The question then becomes: what about dating the med students? (Those who don't see us as med-school rejects, that is...)

DENTCEST! Love it

We dont have classes with med students, but at Columbia this might be an OK idea because you're not with them ALL the time and after D2, ever.

I guess I could only recommend dating students from other years' classes. I can't imagine dating one of my classmates given that I am seeing them at least five days a week, and it's only been just over a month since class started, and just about 3.8 years remaining. I am already getting to the point where I am a little tired of seeing the same faces everyday.

For myself, I have always liked going outside for girls that have nothing to do with my major or profession. It just makes things much more interesting. But that's just my two cents.
