Hi all,

has any1 done this DATS program? I have been rejected from most of the dental schools and I am trying to figure out whether i should do masters, post-bach, or just get dental assistant diploma and work in a dental clinic since i did not have any hands on experience on my previous application. what do you all think? Thanks!

My honest opinion is that you need to retake the DAT, aiming for 20's. Your GPA is borderline, so about a year of classes at 4.0 should boost your chances tremendously. An upward trend always looks good.

I'm currently working as a dental assistant and while it is nice to get experience in the field and get paid for it, I don't think it outweighs GPA/DAT. If you go this route, try and find a dentist that's willing to train you. I don't think studying for and taking an assistant course would be worth it. You could be doing more productive things for your app. Just my opinion.
