don't get me wrong...i haven't studied the day before any of the major tests i've taken in my life. but i'm just wondering, why are people discouraged from studying?

has there been studies that actually proved that studying the day before is going to inhibit you from performing your best on the actual exam?

what is your reason for not studying?

You're an adult and can do what you want in this situation. Not everyone does this. There are some people who thrive on cramming (Whatever works for you)

some people think it will serve only to burn you out, and clear mindedness is a must on the MCAT. But not everybody gets burned out by doing it. I calmly did some verbal passages today, looked over a few notes, and I feel just fine and dandy for tomorrow =) In fact, I feel better and more confident. Do whatever you feel helps you the most, you know yourself better than anyone.

I'll probably do the same for couple of hrs tomorrow

If you're the nervous type, looking over things the day before could only remind you of how much of the important topics you've forgotten over the 3~4 weeks you've been doing FLs.
You could get paranoid and start panicking, and go into the exam room feeling crappy.

I personally just went over some equations from physics and some ochem reactions, but it didn't really affect me that much. In conclusion, to each their own.

there's nothing wrong with studying the day before. I think the point is to not stress yourself out.

I plan on doing a bunch of reading today, but no questions and no time limits.
