Ok so i have today off from work and rather than go skiing with my friends I am stuck at home sick. Then I realize there is no mail today. Is anyone eskle having as great a day as I am?

At least you won't be getting any rejections in the mail today!!

DAMN! No mail? Fark, I forgot about that...

Well I'm AT WORK and sick, so... yeah, tons of fun. 🙂

It could be worse. You could be a recovering burn victim whose bag of saline solution bursts and spills all over your semi-exposed wounds.

Hope that Helps.

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. But like Indianboy said, yes it could be worse. Sometimes, when I am feeling dwon ofn my luck, it is helpful to put things in perspective. Even when my own life seems in shambles, all it does it take to look at the world, look at the news to realize how fortunate I really am. This is not meant to accuse anyone, but just to put things in perspective.

You could be watching your children die of starvation and disease as you try to make a living under a ruthless tyrant. You could be in a country which was ravaged by a hurricane. Your house is gone--everything you own is gone. You could be a citizen kidnapped and tortured by a ruthless government because you dared to disagree. You could be scrounging the streets is freezing cold weather because you don't even have a job,and can't afford to live anyplace.

Aw, come on.

We can all imagine life being much, much worse than it is.

People make comparisons on the status of their lives relative to what they're used to as a baseline. This is normal.

We can be grateful for having full bellies and a roof over our heads, but let's be serious. Maybe none of us should be bitchin' and moaning about not getting any interviews, or not geting into med school, or not getting in the the school they want - because there are people starving in Africa who have it much worse.

Let the man moan in peace.

Jeez, what a downer. I was trying to be positive.

umm... thanks for the words of wisdom everyone...

Since tomorrow is another day and I DO have to go work let's all hope I am well and not infecting all of my coworkers with the sickness I am battling ever so slowly right now. You think someone going into the medical profession would be alright with bein sick but I hate to say it. It blows!

Looking forward to feeling like a million bucks tomorrow.
