Hi. I am new in this field and am trying to choose a decent program for an MS degree in MFT. Ultimately, I would like to open my practice as an LPCC/LMFT practitioner. While browsing the COAMFTE website, I found that Daybreak University in Anaheim (CA) offers both an MA and a PhD degree. I work full-time, so I am looking for a flexible program with evening/online/hybrid classes, which they seem to have. Also, the cost of tuition is also reasonable. Have you heard of this University/program before, and do you have any comments/recommendations? Thanks!

Take any advice I have with a grain of salt, but if the program is accredited, that's a decent sign.

The challenge is finding people associated with the program on sites like LinkedIn. I don't seem to get much through LinkedIn. Not finding faculty or alumni profiles through a place like LinkedIn would give me pause.

Based on a quick look and having never heard of it before - Unless you are going there explicitly for the christian stuff, I'd say avoid it and find a reputable public university near you offering an MFT program. Looks like at least one of the more respectable names they list as faculty are actually affiliate remote faculty. I'm sure there are more reputable christian programs out there too, especially in the socal area. I would be instantly suspicious of a resume that came across my desk with "daybreak university" listed on it. They also appear to specialize specifically in Imago therapy fwiw.
