I am interested in the benefits that such a transition would yield, I am currently finishing high school with about 130 credit hours and all pre-reqs for the doctor of chiropractic school and as of right now i would like to know if i will help my application out, if so by how much. also will there be problems that will arise when i apply to med school later down the line (due to the DC program)

P.S. The program will also yield me a BA in health sciences upon completion of the DC. It will go nicely with the two associates ive obtained in my junior year.

Well, considering many things chiropractors do are not supported, and are often contradicted, by medical science...no, I don't think having a DC would help, at all.

I agree with the above. I don't think a chiropractic degree is going to help with the MD, but it probably won't hurt down the line either.

You should look at it as a job that you can do in the meantime and a route to a degree. You'll have to do other things for the MD application though.

Im on the standard volunteering and shadowing train as everyone else and I am due to start a research project this july. The nature of my question was to see if it will help. Do you think DO's philosophy will fit more in line with my current plan?

Not really. DOs are held to the same logical and scientific standard of practice as MDs, meaning they would question your reasoning abilities as a practicing "doctor" of chiropracty just as much as an MD school would.
