Anyone in those combined programs? I'm wondering what are your thoughts about them?

Guess you havn't been around long. The DDS/MD combind degree is awarded to dentists who complete a 6 year OMS dual degree residency.

i knew that. i meant i was not aware of DDS/MD programs that begin right at the start of dental school, and allows you to do whatever specialty you want, either in dentistry or medicine. DDS/MD is strictly limited to OMS.

Actually, the U. of Kentucky had a DMD/MD pilot program about 7-8 years ago which was a 5 year program out of college. They took only a handful of students to complete what was basically 4 years of dental school plus the 3rd year of med school (which is really all that you miss out on in dental school). My understanding was that it was a complete flop and nobody was interested...and why would they be? It's way overkill no matter which side (MD or DDS) you decide to specialize in. I don't think it helped OMFS people much because you could'nt fit into the 6-year track and if you did a 4-year pathway, you still had to do another year of general surgery to be licensed as an MD.

This is all just hearsay from buddies at U of K years ago, I didn't go there.

Does anyone know schools that offer DDS/DMD programs combined with MPH and MBA programs? If so, how does one gain entry into these programs? Do you need to take a GRE/GMAT?

Harvard used to do this, but I don't know if it's still an option.

Arizona offers a DMD/MPH program. A separate application is required for entry into the MPH program, but it's only a formality. DAT scores are sufficient for entry, if you are in good academic standing in the DMD program.
