DDS/PhD joint programs

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm not sure. I know some of my friends who were declined entry to MD/PhD programs but accepted to the MD program. I'd assume it is the same for the DDS(DMD)/ PhD programs.

Some schools offer these, and they ask in the secondaries they ask if you want to apply to these programs.

My question is, I know its competitive to get into these programs so if I was to apply for the joint program and not get accepted do they they disregard your app. for just the DDS degree?

hope that made sense

DDS/PhD isn't like the MD/PhD in competition. Competition in the MD/PhD is fierce, generally; while the unranked schools have a harder filling up the class. The DDS/PhD program isn't very competitive, because no one wants it. It can be an easier entrance into dental school if your research is good.

Some programs do all-or-none, while some may do DDS only. You have to research which one is which.
