Any input in how this works?
I know that MDs are often routinely hired as scientists in pharmaceutical companies or in bio/chem academia.
But what about those with DDS degrees?
Is it realistic for me to get into Merck or Pfizer as a scientist in a field that is not related to dental research?
I don't have much in academic credentials, as my grades were below the norm of being impressive. But I went to well-known schools for undergrad, dental school, and general dentistry residency.
I just want to know if I fit the typical qualifications ( and if not, what I can do to improve my chances )to get a scientist position at famous biomedical or pharmaceutical firm in research and development of, say, diabetic or anti-depressive medications.
