DDS vs DMD

They're literally the same degree, but at Harvard the latinization of DMD looked too close to MD so they changed it to DDS because it looks better in Latin. There is zero difference between the degrees, it's just a stylistic choice that was originally made for aesthetic reasons

Almost had it. Maryland was the first dental college and they awarded a DDS. Harvard was the first to offer a DMD due to translation issues.

To OP: DDS and DMD are one in the same
