Does anyone out there know any good lit about treatment for a dead testicle. Please no jokes...my best friend was just diagnosed today. I've seen some things about an auto-immune response that attacks the other testicle...thus causing permanent sterility. Please private message me ASAP!

Orchiectomy.

If its really dead, it needs to come out.
I wish your friend the best. No guy wants to be in that position. 🙁

Did he torse ?

To the best of my knowledge, if it looks dead and doesn't pink up intra-op (after de-torsing it), they take it out to avoid the autoimmune response. (just like a mashed up eye has to come out).

That's the weird part. He just went in because he felt a small lump on both testes. They did an US and found that he wasn't lighting up on the right. What's even stranger is the fact that he has feeling still. I am thinking about flying down there to find out what's going on. Thanks guys for the quick response. I appreciate it.

Sounds odd, maybe he torsed without noticing it, I guess that happens. Unfortunately, with testicles it is kind of like veterinary medicine for horses used to be. (Whatever was wrong with the horse, the therapy was the same, a .300 Win....)

unroecognized torsion?
i doubt it. most folks are incredibly symptomatic...sounds autoimmune to me...unfortunate. he should bank some sperm before he gets his orchiectomy, in case his other nut gets bumped off by the same process...
