Hi! I wanted to ask current students who are extroverts how you guys deal with so much alone time as a med student. During undergrad, I would always study with a study partner. Even when prepping for the MCAT I studied in groups and with a friend who was also going to take the test that year.

Is it easy to find study partners in medical school? How do you keep yourself from going nuts if you generally thrive on lots human contact?

Lol for most people I know, the more appropriate question is, "How do I find time to be alone?"

You will see your classmates. A lot. Especially the first two years. We have a large group of people in my class who are rarely not together. If you want to always be surrounded by people, you will have no problem at all.

This would vary depending on which group of friends you are with. Some groups always study together while others prefer to stay at home and study individually, so the generalization that everyone studies alone isn't accurate. Again, the ease of finding study partners depends on your group of friends. It wouldn't be a problem finding a study group even if your closer friends all study individually. People tend to be welcoming so no worries OP.

Living with roommates in student housing for your first year is a good option. Depending on your school you probably have a lot of mandatory stuff so yeah, you'll see 'em plenty. I avoid class as much as possible (if there is nothing graded involved or mandatory checked attendance, I'm not there) and still see people plenty.

If you live with med students, find a good study group, get a workout buddy, and plan fun things with your friends during your free time (all of this is possible pre-clinical years from my own experience) you can probably go almost your entire day spending it with people.

Lots of people study in groups. I think it's more efficient to study by myself and it has been working out, but everyone has their preferences

there is time for both types of study.
I dont do study groups per se. I just go the library/study room, there ought to be someone there you know.
