Ok...here is the deal...I am graduating in may 2010 with my BBA in accounting... i am taking a few BBA core classes this summer and next year will have my last pre-req finished. If i remember correctly anyway. But now my dilemma is I am only 3 classes away from getting a chem major and 1 for a minor. So my question is will it look good towards the adcom's that i decide to add another major/minor my last year before graduating??

I personally do not think majors matter too much, as long as you have a strong science background. For all I know, you could be a music major and go to dental school. BUT, because you come from accounting to chem, I'm assuming the prereq classes for your major/minor are science related, which I think would help.

i think it would help...I got a degree in Finance before getting my second degree. I think it not only shows that your are more dedicated to the profession, but it'll make you seem 'more prepared for the riggors of dental school' and all that kinda jazz you've heard in the past. 👍

Choice of major doesn't matter, and you won't get bonus points for having a double major. That being said, you only have 3 classes to take, so why not?

only 3 more classes, i'd say go for the major. Itll help a little if u do well and it raises ur gpa, plus cost wise itll be a good investment. u can always earn that extra $$ back, but you cant decide to add on another major later (unless u get a whole new degree). wish i wouldve gotten that second major... passed up on it and didnt take the last 8 credits and boy do i regret it now.

yea i think it would help the gpa which my sgpa is good but my cgpa is a smidge lower. so idk but right now my year is pretty lack luster classes wise...originally I was wanting to relax my senior year.....oh well.... The classes i have left are p-chem, analytical chem, and then another upper level chem.....:S

Contrary to what many have said, having a double major rocked the world for me....They LOVE business/bio (which at my school is like a chem/bio major with a bio title haha)...

DO the chem major! you'd be crazy not to! Knowledge is power dude, regardless, you will have more education!!!

I just got an email today from one my biochem professors saying that she is doing research next semester and research would count for one of the 3 classes and the it is over studying a potential periodontal bacterial pathogen!!! I am absolutely psyched for it it seems like a good thing to do for class and even look good on the resume 🙂

LUCKY! I might go for a chem and bio double minor next year, I think it looks good on the app. to have more majors.

Having a resume with solid volunteering and shadowing hours along with strong ECs would set you apart more than a double major.

Well i have good volunteering since high school and great shadowing hours along with doing an unpaid intership for like 175 hours minimum so im psyched for those
