Edit: Thanks to you two who answered already. I will certainly take your advice into consideration, and I really appreciate it. With that being said, I think I posted this on the wrong forum anyway, so this should probably be deleted.

University of Arizona. SO all the way.

I don't know much about UCSD, but I can tell you that the education you'll get from UA is awesome. There are tons of opportunities for research, networking, patient care experiences, dual degrees, electives, etc. Our clinical faculty are all practicing pharmacists for the most part and we have guest lecturers that are specialists come in to discuss certain topics. You'll be learning from some of the best in the field.

The education is very case based with a strong emphasis on clinical practice/interventions and patient centered approaches.

They redesigned the curriculum and are continually making improvements based on student feedback.

Rotations are diverse with lots of unique practice models.

Huge alumni base, lots of connections, and the school has a great reputation among preceptors/clinicians.

I hate to derail your topic, but I'm also debating between UCSD and another school. The other school is MUSC (which is now the South Carolina College of Pharmacy, because it's merged with the Columbia campus for University of South Carolina). If similar wise people would like to speak to that decision, I would similarly appreciate it.

I never understand these posts. Can't you just weigh the pros and cons yourself? Only you know how you feel about these schools. I surely wouldn't let random people influence my decision.

There's a certain line in the 2012 film Argo that's repeated several times. It corresponds very well to how I feel about your post. SEE IF YOU CAN FIND IT FOR YOURSELF.

Hi BobbyK, the best thing to do is interview/talk to current UCSD and UoA students to get a feel of their experience. Ask them questions relevant to what you're looking for in a pharmacy schools such as residency, dual degree, rotations, curriculum, financial aid availability or etc. Both are great schools but it is up to YOU to decide what fit your needs.

Good luck!

i am also debating between ucsd and u of a. I am CA resident. I attend u of a for undergrad and not sure if i can handle the quarter system at ucsd. how are the pass and fail classes at ucsd?
