December 1 falls on a Saturday this year. Does anybody know what implications this has for this years applicants? Will we spend two extra days agonizing, waiting until Monday, December 3 for acceptance?

I just cried, peed and had a heart attack simultaneously.

LMAO rofl!!!

I'm just going to do what I've been doing - catching up with friends and not even worrying about checking mail/interviews. it's good to not think about school for once.

I don't have a solid source but I want to say that on "special" years such as this cycle where acceptance day falls on a Saturday, schools are permitted to inform applicants of their acceptances on November 30th.

That would be awesome, because then you would have all weekend to celebrate! And three less days to wait.

From what I have observed on SDN in years past, some schools begin to call people on the last day of November to let them know (marquette, from what I saw last year), some send automated emails starting at midnight, some let you know throughout the day and into the evening on December 1. I suppose it is up to the school how they choose to notify people, and this Saturday curveball will probably be no different. I'm sure some schools will notify people that Friday before, and they'll be all up on AADSAS, posting :soexcited: and etc. all weekend, but perhaps other schools will be notify the following Monday....Who knows, maybe AADSAS will update at 12AM on Saturday.. in short though, I think it is generally up to the school. October and November will probably seem to drag on, either way.

Calls/e-mails will probably begin Nov 30th and you may even receive some emails at midnight flipping over the calendar to Saturday too.
