Hey guys!

I took the DAT early this week and here are my scores...

PA: 16 👎
QR: 24
RC: 25
BIO: 19
GC: 19
OC: 18

TS: 19
AA: 21

I'm surprised and happy about my QR and RC scores, but really worried that my PA score is very weak compared to others. (excuse: didn't really practice PA much)

If you pretend you're in charge of admissions, what would you say about my scores? 😱 I do have a Masters in Economics, so I hope they take that into consideration...

Some people here are going to tell you that PA is one of THE most important sections of the DAT. I would not worry too much about one score, schools do not usually have cutoffs for PAT.

RC and QR are really good and the rest is decent, except PA which is a little low but I think you're good if your other application material is good (high gpa, shadowing, solid essay and extra-curricular activities). And I don't think it's worth it to re-take just for that. Can I ask how you prepared for QR and RC??

I used Barron's DAT study guide to prepare for the DAT. I think they did a good job on covering QR and RC.

To do well in QR I'd say you should focus on memorizing and practicing formulas. In my experience questions regarding areas/perimeters + triangles + quadratic formulas are the most tricky.

For RC, you shouldn't waste too much time on writing down the summaries, just write down the keywords/topic for each paragraph and refer them as you solve the problems. Reading fast is key, if you spend a lot of time reading random stuff on the internet like Wikipedia then you should do fine.

Thanks! I've been using Barron's and I don't get why everyone hates on it. It has some errors but I think it teaches good strategies. Best of luck to you
