Decided to Become PreMed

as a sophomore, and my GPA was a 1.75 due to slacking and not giving a **** about anything. I took a year off and now and back at it, getting straight A's. Should I even consider med school? i wnat to go so badly, but does will my past knock me out of contention?

Its just gonna take some serious effort on your part. ace the remainder of college, and bust your @ss on the great equalizer, the MCATs. Do some kick @ss ECs (research, volunteer work, etc), and be ready to explain yourself come interview time. Also, consider doing a post baccalureate or a MS/MPH program to further enhance your application if you dont get in the first try. Its going to be difficult, but if you make up for it the past wont knock you out of contention
