Hello all, I'm a recent grad has lurked on this forum for a while, I've narrowed down two
MPH programs that I'm aiming to attend in Fall 2015. One of them being GWU MPH w/ focus on Marketing and Communication. I would love to one day be able to work on creating designing and implementing international and national health campaigns with the Dept of Human and Health Services and its agencies.

What are some experiences with gaining employment with just and MPH ? Im soo nervous about spending $$ on an MPH degree that wont allow me to gain proper employment past "internships".

There are Health Comm jobs out there but these jobs seem to only be a handful, I was thinking of becoming an Registered Dietician in conjunction with the MPH, not just to make profile stand out but because I'm passionate about preventative medicine, I don't want to chose between both. Is is bad to want both a career in Health Comm and Dietetics?? Maybe Im wanting to do too much...

Would any of you suggest earning the MPH first or the RD first ?

Any suggestions, ideas and opinions would help.

Thanks

I can't tell you how to combine the two careers into one, but what I can advise is to get the degree for the career you'd prefer first. You may find that the other degree won't help you get where you want to go 🙂

I have seen programs that actually combine both those degrees.
