Alrighty, so I just received an interview invite from UBuff. I'm happy, but hesitant. My only problem is that I have like two days to decide if I'm going. I'm located in VA right now so it'll have to be a plane ride and such and well things add up. With this in mind, I also wonder if I'd even attend this school if accepted. My first choice is probably EVMS, since my husband is going to be stationed there and we've had enough of the separation deal to last us a lifetime. If not, my other choices are near "home" in New England. UBuff is my second invite and I really hope for more to come, but the question is do I just take the hit with money and use all the chances I get or hold back and save for the others.

I figured this might be seen in better light by other Nontrads than some of the regular pre-meds. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Probably best to eat the cost and go to the interview -- no point deciding against a place until you see if you are getting in there or anywhere else. Presumably you had some reason for sending an application in the first place. The question should thus be, if this is the only school I get into, would I consider going. If yes, then you need to go to the interview.

If, at the end of the application cycle, you were holding an acceptance only from Buffalo, would you be happy to have it? If so, then go there. If you would be happier doing another application cycle hoping to get nearer the husband, then don't.

Well, you guys are definitely right. And I thank you for putting substance to the thoughts inside my head about this. Can't bounce the ideas of the hubby since he's overseas at the moment... Thanks again.

This process is so unpredictable that I would attend every interview; nothing is a sure-bet and many people don't get their first--or any--choice for that matter. Many would kill to be in your position. Congrats and good luck!

Agree.

OP, until you get that first acceptance in your hot little hands, I would advise you to attend every interview you receive. The only exception to this would be, as others have said, if you know that you'd rather not go to medical school at all versus go to medical school at Buffalo. But in that case, you have to ask yourself why you applied there in the first place.
