iam also sailing in the same boat😛...i got 79 in part 1...i 2 hav no specificity of gettin into the particular university...wats ur gpa

Hey Guys,

Definitely Re-take NBDE part-1. No doubt about it! Anything less than 84-85 (new pattern) is not a very competitive score for Advance Standing Program. Again, thats my personal opinion 🙂

Good luck,

Hi
I am also in the same situation as u...I do not understand whether I should retake part 1 and what study mtr sould I use??

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

GO FOR PART II I assure you if you pass part II it will take off a lot of weight from your back , int the next years to come it wont matter if you scored 99 on part I
since they are changing the scoring format.

thanx dr.dj.
you have a good logic:idea: . they are going to aplly this rule in 2010 but then they could count part1 score of the people who appeared before 2010🙁.

are you an international dentist who are applying to US dental school?

If not, I don't understand why you are even thinking about re-taking part1. I heard any passing score will turn into "PASS" after 2010 (but verify this with a more reliable source), so why bother studying??

I really wonder how specialty programs will ever evaluate a candidate if someone is from a dental school with no letter grades and a passing score in part 1. hmmm...... basically, everything comes down to recommendation letters.

study part2. get it done. then go back to part1 if you like. you will feel much more comfortable and feel more confident, because that is the only thing you need to worry about then.
