Right now I am deciding between a private school in my city of half million and a public school in a very large metro area. The public school will be out of state and cost $80,000 more over 4 years. Do you think it's worth it to pay extra to go to pharmacy school in a large city that may potentially offer more opportunity. I do have a lot of connection in my city especially in science & research since I live here all my life. Would it be wise to start a new life?

The public school costs 80k more over 4 years? :O what schools are you deciding between? Privates are expensive usually, unless you got scholarship?

Yes, the Out-of-state school will cost 80k more over 4 years including dorm & living.
While the in-state school is literally across the street from me so I don't have to pay for living.

It depends on the schools.

If it is a new school (private) vs a good school (public), go to the good school. If they are equal, stay home and save money.

Typically, you can apply for in state tuition after your first year at the out of state college. You will have to look more into the state laws and find out the length of residence is required to be considered a resident of the state.

Does that make sense?

both are old and have been in existence for 80+ years, although the public one is much older
