I am a reapplicant and I am lost as to what I should do for my year off. I plan to take graduate courses and work part-time...the question is where should I do all this? I graduated from Ohio State and I am trying to decide whether I should go back to OSU to take courses or if I should take courses at a school (Wright State Univ) where I have a better chance of being a more competitive applicant for their med school (OSU's med school is really competitive, and I think with my scores I would be more competitive at Wright State). ---The cost of attendance is about the same at both schools, so that is not an issue

The pros of going to OSU would be: 1) I'd be much much more familiar with the opportunities and volunteering that I could get involved with on campus and in the Columbus area and I know many advisors that could help me 2) even though I plan to find a job in the hospital, I have worked for two years as a research assistant and would possibly be able to go back to that job if necessary 3) I guess I would enjoy staying there since it'd be a more comfortable atmosphere for me 4) Excelling in upper level science courses at OSU may hold higher credibility than the same classes at Wright State (I'm not trying to bash WSU in any way, I know it is a great school)

The pros of going to Wright State would be: 1) I would be taking courses at a school that offers a medical school with applicant scores that are more similar to mine and Wright State is on my top list of schools I would like to go to (although I don't know if schools necessarily look higher upon a student who would take a few classes at their school over another) 2) I would hopefully (don't know how I would do this however) be able to get a job in the hospital and possibly get in touch with the admissions committee so they know me better as an applicant

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?? I know in the end where I go may not necessarily have a huge impact on my application but I am just trying to increase my chances as much as I can!
