So, I've been accepted to both UHS and UNE 😀. Now I need to decide (and I have an interview at DMU this week). Both schools obviously have their positives and negatives but like many others. I'm just looking for peoples opinions/comments etc. I really liked both schools, so it's gonna be tough. Thanks for any feedback.

Josh

If you want to stay near home do UNE.

UHS and DMU are both friendly midwestern schools. They are similar in facilities and both are adding to their campus.

If you want pure systems do UHS; if you can wait til year two to go systems-based, do DMU.

DMU may pleasantly surprise you b/c of its proximity to downtown Des Moines, the pretty, secure surrounding neighborhood, and the sense of security in Iowa. If you want OMM, nobody beats DMU's dedication to the practice. Unfortunately, DMU's new bldg won't be finished til next year, so you'll have that "one big giant flat room w/ antequated wooden desks" til sometime in the spring 2005 (hopefully).

Congrats on your acceptances:clap: It is rough when you have more than one accptance. I have used things like
1. location - where do you want to spend the next 4 years
2. housing costs - can you find somewhere tolive that you like and can afford
3. tuition - is there a big difference between the schools
4. financial aid - what school will give you a better package, although you have to wait for a few months to get this info back from FAFSA
5. class timeline and schedule - are classes every day 9-5 or does one school offer more study time on some days.

Hey Josh,

I was accepted to both schools but decided on UNE.

As mentioned, It really is personal decision. If you are anxious to leave the Northeast, then UHS might be great for you.
