Decline DO interview invite and reapply next cycle if I get no MD A

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It looks like, from your post history, that you included the one DO school because it's in your home state.
Consider going to the interview and doing your best, at the minimum it will get your jitters out as a first interview and prepare you for upcoming MD interviews.

My MD interview is in few days, and the DO interview will be at the end of September. I am more worried about if I end up declining the DO interview invite, would it negatively impact me if I consider reapplying DO next cycle?

only at the school you declined, so don't turn them down if that region is your goal

Actually, I am really interested in anesthesia as of now. I don't know whether it will be feasible if I go to a DO school.

Hi everyone, please do not hate me for this, but I am in a dilemma.
So my stats are 3.92 and 511 (130/123/131/127). I am a NY resident. I have an MD II for next week and applied to 46 MD schools. I also applied to a DO school and got an II. However, I am interested in pretty competitive specialties.
I am thinking of declining the DO II and trying for MD this cycle, if not get accepted, then retake the MCAT and reapply. However, I am scared of getting blacklisted from DO schools or doing worse on the MCAT. What would you suggest?
So it's that time in the cycle.

Can you enlighten us as to why to applied DO schools if you don't want to go there?

Having the MD doesn't mean that you get to Waltz into competitive residencies. They're competitive for a reason and you'll be competing with plenty of other MDs.

Go to both interviews, and then see how your cycle shakes out. Plenty of my DO grads go into Gas.

And make better choices in the future.

Thanks, came into my senses, and decided to go to both. Thanks for the guidance.
