hey i need a bit of help here guys, im starting dental school at nyu in the fall and i've applied for my loans through citibank but they declined me for the private loan..im assuming it's just cuz i don't have enough credit, i mean im in no debt whatsoever so i figured that would help out but i guess not..what should i do now? NYU suggests Sallie Mae but im afraid they'll decline me as well and it's not so good to just keep applying to loans and getting declined right? i suppose i should have a cosigner right? the only problem is my dad is hesitant to do that, anyway i'd appreciate any help from anyone who has been in my situation before or knows what the best thing for me to do is, thanks!

I read somewhere on Access Group that they have "designated cosigners" for people in your situation. I don't know what you have to sign away to these people but it may be an option, assuming you don't really want your right kidney.

There are a few folks on here who can help you. I've read a couple of thereads by med students starting this fall who where able to get great loans because of the advice here.
