Thanks banditalfi, and thanks for letting us know! And congrats on deciding on Cornell (I know thats not a recent decision but i thought id throw that in there anyway! Maybe its just been too long of a day!)
 
I'm declining seats at Mississippi, LSU, and UTK. I hope this helps some of you!!

Hey guys, I will not be accepting at UTK or VA-MD in order to go to UGA. They're both great schools, and I really wish I could have afforded UTK especially, but I know that some of you wonderful people will do them proud by filling my spot! Good luck to all. :luck: Oh yeah, both of those were OOS for me.

I am declining Wisconsin OOS tomorrow. I am so sad about it too! 🙁
 
Congrats on making a decision, Aves. FWIW, I think you made a good one. And you have the CDC so near, too! How cool is that?
 
Today I mailed in my declination (hmm, that word doesn't sound correct) to Colorado (OOS).
 
A quick FYI for any on Michigan's waitlist. I talked to them today (for other reasons), but also asked if they would start calling alternates after the 15th deadline. That would be a no. They said the accept/decline letters only have to be postmarked by the 15th, so they wait an extra 2 weeks for straglers. She said they definately won't call before May 1st. I can only assume this applies to other schools as well. Damn.
 
Are you freaking kidding me? I emailed them right after I got my alternate letter and I got the impression that they start calling immediately after the April 15th deadline. This is driving me nuts!

I declined my acceptance to Purdue, OOS. Good luck to those on the waitlist, I'm crossing my fingers for you!
 
After much debate and a lot of difficulty, I will be declining my spot at Glasgow. Knowing me though I will wait until I confirm with Illinois that they received my postcard (Im neurotic I know!) Hope one of you alternates gets my spot!
 
It was hard but I declined OOS Ohio State today.

I just declined OOS spots at MN and TN to go to VMRCVM. MN was my top choice but I had to choose VMRCVM for financial reasons...I'm trying to get excited about VMRCVM but I'm so sad about MN. Good luck to whomever takes my spot...crossing my fingers for all you on the waitlists.
 
Declined Upenn OOS, accepted Tufts IS
 
One of my best friends is going to decline Cornell OOS tomorrow in favor of the very affordable OKSU. I tried to talk her out of it, but since I didn't, I hope someone who deserves it just as much as she does gets her spot. 🙂

While making these choices are hard, realize you gave hope to all of us alternates for Western! And you're from the East coast like me, maybe, just maybe.....😳

Keep up the hope JerseyLynn.... remember in past years at Western the waitlist moved significantly 🙂
 
I just declined OOS to mississippi, and am currently OOS waitlisted at Iowa but will decline that if I get offered it (unless someone knows how to remove yourself from the waitlist ahead of time?), so there are two more spots for everyone.

You can just call or email the admissions director and ask to be removed--please do this as it's very helpful for waitlisted people, and for the school as well. Lots of people remove themselves from waitlists.
 
The final list:

I declined UC Davis (OOS), Colorado State (OOS), Ohio State (OOS), University of Wisconsin (OOS), Cornell University (OOS), and Tufts University (IS).

It was a really tough decision and post-decision I'm still torn.
 
I have declined OOS acceptance to Kansas State, and also removed myself from the alternate lists at Auburn and Tennessee (both OOS). Hope this helps someone out!

I emailed the general penn vet admissions office ([email protected]) but Ms. Herpen responded back. Perhaps emailing her (she's the same person who sent the interview invite if that's how you got it) would be a more direct way. Good luck! I'm out of state by the way.
 
I know a few schools have today as the deadline to notify them of accept/decline. Anyone know if that holds true for most schools? This wait is just killing me, I need some hope to cling to that they will start calling alternates soon!

Anyways, I previously mailed in declines to Tufts, Purdue, Kansas, and Ohio, and just emailed my decline to Penn (all OOS)

I can't wait to see the waitlist start moving!
 
I declined Purdue today (OOS). 🙁 So sad. I wish I could attend everywhere I was accepted! Well ... except for the bills that would add up ... 😀

I emailed the generic admissions email and then the dean responded to me saying he thinks Cornell will be great. It was cute of him.
 
I declined my Cornell waitlist offer today. They got right down to business, April 15th exactly. Would have been a tough decision if I had to choose 😀. I probably would have chosen not to risk the PBL thing. Who knows though. 😀 😀 😀

Wait...now I'm confused. They offered you the spot, right? So didn't you have to choose? 😕 I think I'm confused because it's past my bedtime. 🙂
 
Don't be sad Chrismarl, it was a beautiful day in Blacksburg today. I was looking at houses and townhouses and they are so much affordable than Minnesota. Did I mention all the flowers and how lovely the mountains look this time of year?
 
I go back and forth from thinking how wonderful it would be to live somewhere else (a beach? mountains? palm trees? roads that curve? more than two feet of snow? WOW!) to thinking how I hope I just get in here (husband's job, house, family, cost, convenience.) Sorry for the diversion, but my own brain is starting to annoy me. 🙂
 
I just declined at CSU, Tufts, Penn, Illlinois, and MN. Yay for open spots!

After much deliberation and im sure what will always be a tinge of regret...I declined (finally) admission to Glasgow yesterday! Hopefully someone waitlisted here will get that and get the scotland experience I will be missing out on!

(Sorry it took so long but I was waiting to make sure Illinois got my reply postcard!)
 
Declined Royal Veterinary College in London.
Declined Iowa State (#17 OOS alternate).

I LOVED Iowa--the people, the curriculum-- but I got in to MN- my IS school. Either way, hopefully these spots help someone!!

Declined LSU, OOS waitlist

Both of that done yesterday
 
Declined OOS admissions offers at LSU a few wks ago and at Tufts today... The latter decision was very "tough," no pun intended. 🙂
