i was accepted to a school but i havent made up my mind on whether to do just an md or both, in which case i would need to reapply. this is the only program where i am accepted. i just got into the school's mstp so i don't think they will have keep a record of it. the md program for the same school still has me on their waitlist, from which i could withdraw. what do people think about defering or just flatout reapply to md only?

I'm confused by your post. You would have to reapply if you want to do both (i.e., an MSTP), yet you have an acceptance in hand from the MSTP? And you would not need to reapply if you decided to do MD, yet you have no MD-only acceptance in hand? If you want to do MD-only, why don't you just tell that to the school which has already - it doesn't make sense that you're still on the waitlist - de facto accepted you into their MD program by virtue of the MSTP acceptance? If they refuse to accept you for MD-only, you warn them that there's a high probability that you will simply matriculate and then drop out of the MSTP on day one of classes, thereby causing them to have wasted a spot.

the school accepted me mstp only bc someone else dropped out of the spot. i think they will move on to the next person once i tell them no. i think the md part is separate and they are not in sync with the mstp. i learned more about the school during the interview which left me little desire to do anything there. but i fear that the md adm would eventually mark me as one that declined an acceptance. i just dont know. i think i will probably accept thou.
