guys, what happens when you decide not to take the Step1 after signing up for a specific 3 month window?

i know you lose the $430 fee, but what else? does it get recorded somewhere and haunt you later? what if you have a family emergency, medical problem, etc?

also do you notify your school that you'll be delaying it?

You gotta get the extension form from the nbme site and send it with 50 bucks. The form needs you to get a signature from your school to show you go there. The request has to be made before 25 after your current period expires. I don't think you lose your money but remember to cancel your current appointment if you do this. About the school, they might have a deadline to take the exam so if you have extenuating stuff go talk to them. I don't know whether they keep records of that stuff.

PD: "Sorry man, you took it in July. And I don't approve of your test center choice. We don't usually accept students from that center." :meanie:

🙂
