Has anyone here deferred their initial enrollment for 1 year? I know some schools do this, though they don't often publicize. I'm in the middle of all my interviews and have been accepted to a few schools already. I'd really like to do an internship this summer and the dates of the internship overlap with the beginning of school - hence deferment.

So who has done it? What was the process? What schools won't let you?

Thanks.

1. What is the internship

and

2. How could it be important enough that you want to put off starting the education that you'll need for the rest of your chosen career

chemistry. cancer research specifically. it's the difference between starting pod school with a degree - or without.

Some podiatry schools with give you bachelor's degree in biological science if you successfully complete the first year of coursework. Therefore you can still get your undergraduate degree. I know Scholl does this.

Wow, I didn't know that. Awesome.
