My application was deferred by Iowa today. Is that just their nice way of saying I've been rejected?

From what I saw last cycle, it's pretty much a rejection. There were a few people who were offered an interview after being deferred, but it seems rare. What are your stats?

Are you from the Midwest? Looking at last year's ADEA book, they accepted OOS students from SD, ND, WI, MN, MI, UT, and IL
