i don't know if this belongs in this forum, but..

can you defer an offer of admission to optometry school (wait until next year to start)?

so if i got in now, and would be entering in fall 2008, can is push that back to fall 2009?

just wondering if any of the optometry schools allow you to do this

Yes - but you have to come up with a pretty good reason. You would need to contact the school and ask how you go about starting the process of deferring for a year. They'll let you know what you need to do - which will probably involve writing a letter to someone (admissions committee, dean, etc) and detailing your reasons for requesting the deferral. They will review your case and make a decision.

If you alread know you might need to defer, why not wait a year to apply?
