Deferring Matriculation (DMU)

Does anyone have any info on how DO schools handle deferment of entrance for one year, if an applicant is accepted? I know that most MD schools post this info, and most allow it. I am interviewing at DMU and really would like to have some information about their policy before I show up that day. I won't be able to hide the fact that I need to defer, so I need to know how to approach the subject at the interview.

Why not just call the admissions office and ask about the deferment policy in general? They wouldn't need to know who you are or what your situation is.

I've discussed this with DMU already, you can defer matriculation to the following year, just contact them and set it all up, they won't be mad or anything, you have your reasons.
