Deferring Optometry acceptance

Does anyone know if it's possible to defer for a year if you get accepted to lets say Suny optometry or does anyone have any experience trying to get a deferment for a year from any opt school and what their circumstance was and what the final result ended up being? thanks!

yeah, one of my classmates at SUNY-O deferred for a year, just give the student affairs office a call or speak to Dr. Johnston...g'luck
