Can anyone help me describe my major (Neuroscience) in one word?? It's one of the practice interview questions given by my pre-med committee, which we need to turn in with answers and why we chose them…

I was thinking inquisitive? But I'd love more ideas if anyone can think of more unique or suitable words! Just throw them at me 🙂

Lol how to describe one word in one word without using the word? Sounds like a fun word game but I'm not sure how much you could learn from the answer. Maybe if the Q was, "Describe your major in one or two sentences" you might be able to express what you personally gained from your studies....

hrm... "Neuroscience."

Seriously though, this is a silly question and I don't think you should spend too much time thinking about it.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit silly too. I guess they just want me to choose one word that fits my field? In that case, would inquisitive or heuristic be good choices? Since Neuroscience is predominantly a research field, I was trying to find a word that means something along the lines of "stimulates curiosity"

I think both those words would work, but then again I think they would also apply to every scientific major. I was a neuro major and if I had to do this exercise I would probably say something like "connectivity" or "ambiguity"

Think about a word that both describes what you gained/learned/accomplished from completing your degree AND makes your experience valuable to the admissions committee.

Some other words might include: scrutiny, investigation, intigrative, multifaceted? just some thoughts..

*Sighs over failed experiments*
"Black-box"

Although if you were ever to be actually asked this I think the interviewer would care more so that you can think on your feet rather than your actual answer.

"Giant-squid-axon"

Or go on a 30 min monologue about neuroscience and when the interviewer tells you that wasn't a single word ask them if they didn't hear the hyphens.

All good answers but the best answer is obviously

:zombie::zombie: BRAINS :zombie::zombie:

Definitely this.

Brainscience.
Done. Move to next question

"BRAAAAIINNSSS" said like a zombie. You'll get the acceptance for sure.
