Hi everyone! I was wondering what exactly constitutes a first-generation student: my dad has a master's degree and my mom has a bachelor's degree but both of these degrees are from a country outside of the United States and neither are related to the healthcare field. I've heard several opinions that argue either I would qualify as a first-generation student because I am the first in my family to go to college within the United States or that I would not be because my parents still did pursue college degrees regardless of the country. Thoughts on this?
