Delay a week or not?

Hi, I'm retaking the step.. Failed by 1 point 191. My window (which has already been extended ends July 31). My exam is in 7 days. I took a practice exam today and got 207 on NBME 16. I want to break 210. Is it possible in only 7 days? I can only extend it one more week beyond that. If I do extend it tho I'll loose my clerkship spot on the east coast. Though, my step score is what matters most at the end of the day. Any advice much appreciated!! I'm an IMG US resident..

Extending one week is going to do close to zero in terms of your test ability, knowledge and strategy. I could imagine how stressed you might be, but just keep a cool head and sit it.

am in ur same position i took step 1 9 months agao and got a 181. started studying march 20th and then i took uwsa june 26 got a 228 and then took name 15 got a 370=200. and i plan on taking step july 31st. i am taking nbme 16 this weekend hopefully thats goes well but am freaking out.

btw how did you do so well in cardio that was my weakest subject from nbme 15….how did you study for cardio?

Yeah I think extending a week is not gonna do anything my friend... U should rely on God n move forward

for cardio i just did FA/Uworld/Pathoma.. good luck you can do it!! I think the trick to cardio is connecting the presentation to the pathogenesis.. like why you hear certain heart sounds in different pathologies.. that was my weakness at first at least. also review pharm for cardio really well with UW/FA (a lot of easy points) renal pharm+cardio pharm+ heme/onc pharm are all connected in FA

Thank you so much.....I just pray we do well this time around atleast pass because we really can't effort to fail I had high expectations of a 250 at first but my expectations has dropped to above a 220 I am jus hoping nbme 16 goes well for me compared to 15.
