Hi all,

I intended to apply early this cycle but I received a pretty awesome summer research opportunity that I didn't anticipate. This made it impossible for me to study well and test comfortably for the MCAT. I postponed my MCAT to pursue the summer research then I realized that my new date was pretty late into the application cycle. Rather than do something like blow my first shot because I was late in the cycle, I decided to wait until next cycle, have everything ready, and apply as soon as the cycle opens.

When I made this decision, I had already started my AAMC app for this cycle. I probably have it about 70% complete, if I had to put a percentage on it. Am I able to transfer the content that I've already completed into next cycle's application or will I have to enter every item again step by step when the new app opens?

The bottom line is it really doesn't matter. I know that if I want to apply and manual re-entry of my items is required it will get done. My real question is about the LORs. Will they transfer or will I have to get them resubmitted into the app next cycle (and to do so, chase down instructors and beg them to submit their letters again)?

Thanks for any help on this!

Thank you! Unfortunate for me but thanks for the information nonetheless.

Lol why did you have to tell us the entire story about how you're so content with taking a gap year? Were you looking for praise from the adcoms or something (and please don't apologize saying "I'm sorry that you think it came out that way." It's pretty clear what your intentions were)? All you had to ask (search) was if the LOR content on your AMCAS transferred... Instead, you made it an entire essay
