I think you need to be more critical of your interviews. Were you nervous? How did you think they went? PM me

Are those waitlists for schools that are known to waitlist a lot of people? If so, I wouldn't read too much into it. Usually if your interview skills are really bad, you would get rejected intead of waitlisted.

Can you project confidence? Friendliness? Insightfulness? Nobody likes to think of themselves as having poor social skills, but those who can decidedly project positive qualities will be the ones perceived as strong interviewees.

The best way to find out how strong you are is to hold a mock-interview with a professional, like a physician or your pre-health advisor, and ask them for feedback. At every stage there is room for improvement, so there's assuredly something you could gain.

Long story short, I've been pretty let down today. 3/3 on waitlists post II, no acceptances yet. I have gone to 5 interviews so far and have 3 coming up. My next one is this Friday, and I'm starting to get nervous that I've been doing something wrong in my interviews. I think the fact that I've received 8 IIs, including one at a T20 school, suggests that my stats and ECs are not the problem. I want to make sure that I fix anything that I might be doing wrong before my next round of interviews.

I know it's difficult to evaluate your own interview performance. Any tips on trying to figure out what to improve and improving it? I did a few mock interviews and the advisors said I was doing a good job overall. Just a few minor things to improve but nothing that would tank the interview. Maybe I'm just overreacting now, but I really don't want to end up 0/8 when next summer rolls around.
If you go 0/8 by June, that's when you know you're a bad interviewer.

To add to this, do you project enthusiasm and passion about what you're speaking about? If so, do you feel like the conversation is progressing naturally (and you're not getting any hints that something is incongruous)? Are you making strong eye contact while remaining able to converse without self-consciousness?

I found my first interview day to be a bit awkward due to nerves on my part (even after doing mock interviews and plenty of prep), but after that I have felt very confident about my interviews. Who knows what that is worth, however.

What did the people in the mock interviews say you need work on? You keep saying a few minor things. Maybe they aren’t so minor. One thing, and it’s hard, don’t make yourself crazy and self conscious. Especially on Friday. Just do the best you can and try to relax!

Need to know the schools tbh. With new traffic rules a lot of us are expecting waitlist to be a more common result for a lot of people in the middle of the pack of successful applicants (not candidates everyone wants to poach as early as physically possible, but also ppl receiving multiple IIs). There are schools where there is a lot of WL movement and others where a very small portion of the class will come from the WL.

That said, I agree with the poster who said to be more critical. Other than that it sounds like you are still on the right track. With 5 more to go, and no post II rejections, I would be extremely surprised if you did not get in this cycle
