Yeah, english classes are generally a joke though, so just the extra class on top of your regular schedule and it's just 1 slightly busier quarter. I found an english class that was science related and semi-interesting. Check to see if you can do that.
 
Not to hijack the thread, but I think physics classes are equally worthless.

To the OP, you are doing the right thing by contacting all the schools now, and it does suck that you have to take and extra course or two, but it might be a nice break from all the other 'tough' classes that you will be in.
 
When I went on a tour at USC, they told me that if you have a bachelors degree, they waive the English requirement. I'd call to confirm that though.

I've heard similar things from other schools as well as situations in which they would waive your english requirement if your Reading Comp score was high enough. Again, contact the schools you are interested in, but there are definitely schools that don't follow their english prereqs strictly.
