If she was an MD yes, a PhD probably. It certainly is not going to hurt you. Do well, apply, make sure your interviewers know your situation.

Now, delete this post, easily identifiable and makes you seem like a crazy person.
 
It doesn't make you a crazy person, but do you really want yourself so easily "found out"? You shouldn't.

I was going to answer this before you edited but didn't have time so my answers are based on what I remember from your original post.

To answer your question, the only scenarios I can see it being helpful are:
1. She has a research focus that will have her interacting with MDs, preferably IM folks. If she's in Sociology or Particle Physics, it's unlikely to be ueful.
2. It definitely gives you a reason to want to be there. Some PDs respond to that.

TL;DR - Not going to guarantee you a spot, but there's nothing negative about it, that's for sure.
