Here's a little background on me and my app:

Colorado Resident ORM
MCAT: 517
cGPA/sGPA: 3.75/3.75
Research: 400 hours but no pub
Clinical: 1000 hours as a CNA
Volunteer: 300 hours as a Spanish interpreter at a free clinic
leadership: O-chem TA for a year
shadowing: 200 hours with a lot being primary care

I applied to a lot of T20 schools but only heard back from 1 and just got the WL this week. I worked on my essays and secondaries for months and submitted my app on day 1. What do you guys think the problem is? Was I just too cocky in thinking I had a chance at a T20?

I'm just a regular guy, so my say is worth spit. But you sound like the cookie cutter applicant to a mid tier aside from your CNA experience. For T20s they probably saw another 1000 of you based on your numbers. For schools like Mayo, Feinberg and Colombia... Reaching hard.

Assuming you didnt' royally screw up somewhere (significant downward trends and other red flags), I assume you just failed to stand out mixed with unrealistic school list. You still got some time though. Should be another significant batch of II in January

Also, you are telling me you already have a shot. Why didn't you close on your one interview? AIDA! That was your key opportunity to matriculate to a T20, so how is it a pipe dream? Where's that one major member that says something like " 100% apply, 60% get rejected 10% get 1 interview and 1 acceptance and another 10% get multiole interviews and 1 acceptance." (Or something to that effect)
