Not step 1, but is having a light understanding of Anatomy/physiology good to look into for someone with no Anatomy background?Don't pre-study for step I before even getting into medical school..
No prior knowledge (beyond the prereqs) is expected for anatomy or any other course for that matter. If you have discipline and good studying skills, you'll be fine. I went into medical school thinking everyone had prostates, and I turned out alrightNot step 1, but is having a light understanding of Anatomy/physiology good to look into for someone with no Anatomy background?
Cool cool! Thanks! No prior knowledge (beyond the prereqs) is expected for anatomy or any other course for that matter. If you have discipline and good studying skills, you'll be fine. I went into medical school thinking everyone had prostates, and I turned out alright
I’m an MS4 doing interviews for med school. If I asked a student what they are doing with their gap year and they said “step 1 prep” I’d probably recommend rejection.
This doesn’t just apply to being a premed. Follow this rule in preclinicals too.Dont waste your time on step. Have fun / get paid.
It seems like everyones in agreement. I probably shouldn't have said step 1 prep, when my goal is more to retain everything I learned in my SMP, while also having a chance to go more in depth in some areas of interest. I'm a bit worried it'll be rough going from not being in school to med school so that's also playing a role in my thought process. Either way thanks for the input!!
If u can get into medical school you will be overwhelmingly likely to get through medical school. Don’t worry about learning. If you want to learn something you’re better off studying something medical school won’t teach you, like a language, or poetry, or how to play a certain song on an instrument you know.It seems like everyones in agreement.
