To your credit, your DAT is superb, and I'll guess that the admissions representative you talked with knows the history of students they accepted from your university in the past and are fully aware of the grade deflation trends (especially if you have a prehealth advisor/committee that keeps them abreast). Yes, I still think your overall science GPA seems to be a bit on the low side, but how well you did in upper-level biomedical core classes may also help you in your file screen.

So let's focus on a little criticism: your listed extracurriculars don't give me any insight about your willingness towards service to vulnerable populations that are not like yourself. Give me a little more when it comes to community service and your commitment.

Teaching as employment: were you a full-time teacher? Is this tutoring? Unless you have some sort of teacher certification or worked for an organization like Teach For America, any sort of tutoring or TA'ing/SI'ing is very typical of most prehealth students and doesn't really give you as much weight to stand out.

So have you gone to recruitment fairs where you've talked to the recruiting staff and students at the dental schools? UoP is a completely different beast, so you may have to show you really can handle a super-compressed curriculum.
