The language in these phrases, along with claiming that he made only "one factual statement" that was also him laughing in disbelief, makes me think there's another version of these events. Otherwise, he appears very much in the right. I'm interested in seeing what other information comes out.

Absolutely. There’s more to this story. The school likely has more evidence that is being left out of this post. I doubt they would go to such great lengths to discipline a student without evidence.

I imagine he said much more extremist political views than just "I can't believe this girl has a BLM screensaver", but that still isn't reason for expulsion. I mean I've seen many classmates express the view that the republican party is fascist and no one is pushing to kick them out (rightly so). Unless his views are explicitly hateful (and apparently in the case of the Miami student, sometimes that's not even enough...) he should not face expulsion.

Just from what he's written, I think this dude is an idiot.

Dude swallows propaganda like a thirsty man in the Sahara.

I think you hit the nail on the head. While he was foolish to make a statement like that in an open forum (even if by accident), the statement in and of itself is not grounds for expulsion. However, the language he used in his description of the "full story" (e.g....political Marxist movement that uses violence...liberal ideologic indoctrination of our university system...mob of social justice warriors...) leads me to believe there is more to the story than he is letting on. It's hard to paint yourself as the victim when you use such divisive language to describe those who "wronged" you.
