UVM sounds like the all around better choice aside from the fact that Cinci is higher ranked. But even then, I don’t think the difference is prestige is substantial. UVM is close to home, cheaper, still a good school, and P/F for first 2 years which will be chill. If you go there and do well plus find some research which probably would not be difficult at all you’d probably match into something good. What do you think?

My parents feel the same and prefer if I go to UVM but of course it's ultimately my decision. No one in my family is in the medical field and so I don't really have anyone to ask except here. I already have a good impression of UVM from their second look meetings but haven't looked through the materials for Cincinnati since I was just taken off the waitlist.

Not being able to interview in person has made it difficult to get a good feel of the environment at each (although I'm happy I saved a lot since I didn't have to travel). I might try to visit the UVM CT campus this weekend to get a better idea. In the meantime, I'm going to try and continue to negotiate the scholarship from UVM and see if Cinci will be willing to offer a bit of aid too.

Also sitting on a T20 waitlist which I would most likely go to if I am accepted.
Yeah, best to go visit if you can to make your own impression and decision. I don't have any insider knowledge of either school, but from an outside perspective I think UVM sounds like the winner based on your descriptions. Of course, I also don't put much stock into "prestige" unless there's a big discrepancy (which there isn't here). So, go to school where it'll be less expensive, less stressful, more support, and ideally more fun! If you set goals, work hard, do well academically, and network I am sure you'll be able to get where you want from UVM (which sounds like a NYC residency).
