Check off which schools your program has been successful with candidates with a similar profile with yours. If there is a good relationship with the SMP with state schools, you might have a good chance given your GPA consistency. Do you need to do PREview or Casper?

It's not apparent to me, but I'm skimming the WAMC's... what is your primary care exposure?

Try to get more clinical experience. I am surprised you got 280 hours of just ortho shadowing. Could any of this be counted as clinical experience or was it all observing/following the surgeon?

Applicants often make the mistake of thinking that applying to more schools increases their chances. It does not. Usually they are adding schools that would not consider their app or the secondary essay quality drops even with pre-writing.

You are a FL resident, that is all that matters. Attending a masters program in the state is good too. The NY ties are strong, the NJ ones are not.

I suggest:
All FL schools
All 4 SUNYs
Hofstra
Rochester
Einstein
NYU
Mount Sinai
Dartmouth
UVA
Case Western
Ohio State
Cincinnati
Emory
Northwestern
University of Chicago
Vermont
Jefferson
Tufts
University of Iowa
Wake
WUSTL
Saint Louis
Hackensack
Vanderbilt
Colorado

@Faha
Would love to get your opinion on school list as well, as your posts on others’ WAMC seem very insightful.
Thanks

@chilly_md
Should I assume that if there is a school that was on my list but not on yours, I’m likely wasting my time with it? I noticed you took off some low yield schools, some schools I considered to be somewhat OOS friendly, and also replaced some schools I considered to be reaches with schools I consider to be even more of a reach such as Uchicago and NYU.
