Retaking a 516 is not “perfectionist” you’re fine, if you retook a 523 that would be a different story, I think the bigger problem is having taken it 3 times but you should be okay
Let me ask you something: what "context" do you have in your application that points toward scenario A?
It doesn't sound like you have an "unbridled drive toward excellence." It sounds like you got your score back, thought, "The 92nd %ile isn't good enough for a superstar like me," panicked, and then promptly tripped over your own shoelaces.
