Hello! If this type of thread has already been posted, or would receive more responses elsewhere, please direct me. If you have specific resources for this answer not listed below, those would be appreciated!

I am a non-trad, new pre-med student in TX looking towards Dell or McGovern, needing guidance on activity (?) list. Unsure if possible to receive a response on this, but thought I'd put it out. I've gathered as much research as possible on Dell through YouTube, this site, and Reddit, but haven't seen anything this particular.

I feel I align well with Dell's mission and values, but I am curious about specific examples of past activities or extracurriculars (which I am assuming, Dell is specific with) admissions have given acceptances to. If you've been accepted, currently attend, or are an alumni of Dell, what kinds of activities or extracurriculars did you participate in? What do you think made them choose you? OR If there is something else (besides stats) you believe (or they said explicitly) made Dell choose your application, what was it? To long-standing members of this forum, what is a pattern from Dell, or insight you have that you've seen has made an application stand out (besides being community-focused/leadership, and if that is truly all that's needed, say that too)?

If Relevant/Helpful:
  • Job - Patient Care Coordinator, Community Health Clinic
  • Activities (planning/considering attempting)
    • Assess whether university students in my area would be interested in regular volunteering at a completely free Clothing resource patients use at my clinic (would allow our patients, who are low-income or homeless, & other community partners, to obtain clothes at a more prompt rate - weeks to a few days), facilitate this 1x or 2x a month
    • Volunteer work (a project?) increasing civic engagement and resources within certain populations
*Bonus: If you have any feedback on my plans above, in regards to getting into Dell (McGovern too), please share! I plan to add to my volunteering & activities list as I go. I just began prerequisites this semester.

Thank you in advance!
